Welcome to Pets and Plants! These Terms and Conditions outline the agreement between you (the client) and Pets and Plants (referred to as “we”, “our”, or “us”) for dog walking and pet sitting services. By booking with us, you agree to the following terms.
1. Our Services
We provide:
• Dog walking (individual or groups from the same household)
• Pet sitting in clients’ homes
We aim to provide reliable, loving, and professional care for your pets while you’re away or busy.
2. Bookings and Payments
• Deposits: A non-refundable deposit is required to secure all pet sitting bookings.
• Dog walking and pet sitting payments: Full payment is required by the day before the scheduled service.
• Payment methods: Bank transfer (details provided upon booking).
• Late payments: If payment is not received before the service begins, the booking will be cancelled.
3. Cancellations and Refunds
• Dog walking: Cancellations made with at least 24 hours’ notice will not incur a fee. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice are non-refundable.
• Pet sitting: Deposits are non-refundable. Cancellations made within 5 days of the start date will require full payment.
• In the event Pets and Plants must cancel a service (for example, due to illness or emergency), any prepaid fees will be refunded or credited.
4. Emergencies and Vet Care
• In the event of a pet emergency, we will seek immediate veterinary care at the nearest available practice.
• We will make every effort to contact you or your nominated emergency contact before authorising treatment.
• If we cannot reach you, we will act in the best interests of your pet.
• You agree to cover any veterinary costs incurred.
• If your pet requires 24 hour supervision after veterinary care and we are required to leave to attend to other clients, we may ask your nominated emergency contact or another trusted person to step in temporarily.
• If we become ill or otherwise unable to provide care, clients must have a backup person available to take over in such situations.
5. Insurance and Responsibility
• Pets and Plants holds pet care insurance and the owner, Emma Silvey-Ratcliffe, is DBS checked.
• While every reasonable effort is made to keep your pets safe and happy, all animals are cared for at the owner’s risk.
• We cannot accept responsibility for injury, loss, or death of any animal caused by circumstances beyond our control (e.g. illness, escape, or natural events).
6. Keys and Home Access
• Keys are kept securely and are never labelled with personal information.
• Clients are responsible for ensuring we have safe access to their property for pet sitting or dog walking services.
• We will not be held liable for loss or damage to property unless caused by proven negligence.
7. Behaviour and Safety
• Pets and Plants reserves the right to refuse or terminate services for animals that show aggression or pose a danger to people or other animals.
• Clients must disclose any known behavioural or medical issues prior to booking.
• All dogs must wear identification tags and be up to date with vaccinations, flea, and worm treatments.
8. Confidentiality and Privacy
All personal information (including your contact details, keys, and home access information) is treated as strictly confidential and used only to provide our services.
We comply with UK GDPR and will never share your details without your consent, except where required by law.
9. Photos and Updates
We may take photos of your pets during visits or walks to share with you. With your permission, we may also use them for social media or marketing purposes. Please let us know if you prefer we don’t share images publicly.
10. Agreement
By booking any service with Pets and Plants, you confirm you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
